LIPOMA EXCISION OF ABNORMAL SKIN GROWTH

Skin forms a barrier between the internal organs and the environment. The skin generally reflects the person's overall health status. Since the skin is the largest organ system, any disorder is easily visible and are usually the first reason why people seek medical assistance.

Skin lesions are the most prominent skin abnormality. Lesions are lumps or bumps such as moles, cysts, ganglion, and lipoma. Most lesions do not cause serious problems, but you may want to have them removed due to being painful or unsightly. Excision is recommended to remove skin lesions that show any sign of turning cancerous or to diagnose the cause of the lesion.

HEMORRHOID TREATMENT

Hemorrhoids are dilated portions in the anal canal. This can cause itching and pain and are the most common cause of bright red bleeding with every passage of stool. Hemorrhoid symptoms and discomfort can be relieved by several ways. Apart from having good personal hygiene, high residue diet, sitz bath and analgesics, hemorrhoids can be managed surgically.

A conservative treatment known as Hemorrhoid Banding is a procedure that involves a small rubber band to be slipped on an internal hemorrhoid. This will cause the tissue distal to the hemorrhoid to die after several days and sloughs off.

Another procedure is known as Hemorrhoidectomy, or the surgical removal of external hemorrhoid. In this method, incisions are made in the tissue around the hemorrhoid. Then, hemorrhoid is clamped to prevent bleeding, removed, and the skin is brought together by few stitches.

In Trans Canada Medical Centre, Dr. Zahid Rafiq does both procedures. A consultation with Dr. Rafiq can help you understand the medical management your condition requires.
